What is the digital twin?
With EPLAN ProPanel, we create a complete 3D model of your switchgear. This model contains all mechanical and electrical components and serves as the central basis for design, processing, and production.
All relevant data is derived directly from the model – for maximum consistency and efficiency.
Automatically generated production data
All mechanical processing data is automatically derived from the digital 3D model. This includes CNC drilling and laser data for enclosures, doors, and mounting plates, as well as precise cutting data for mounting rails, cable ducts, and profile systems.
All information is based directly on the planning in the digital twin and is therefore available at all times in a consistent and complete manner without manual rework. This enables precise and efficient further processing in mechanical production.
The digital twin also provides all necessary data for wiring and cable assembly automatically. Wire and cable lengths are precisely calculated based on defined routing paths and optimally matched to the respective system.
In addition, complete terminal and assembly data are generated, enabling structured and error-free implementation. This consistent database significantly reduces manual effort while ensuring consistently high quality.
In addition to production and wiring data, all information for labeling is also automatically generated. This includes labeling data for equipment, cables, and signs, which are taken directly from the planning.
All data is clearly defined and documented in a traceable manner at all times. This ensures maximum transparency in the project and enables consistent, standard-compliant labeling – from planning to the finished system.
Detecting errors before they occur
Bending radii, clearances, routing paths, and accessibility are checked in the 3D model. Mechanical conflicts can be identified and avoided at an early stage – even before production begins.
Seamless connection between planning and production
Through the interplay of EPLAN Electric P8 and ProPanel, the electrotechnical planning remains fully synchronized with the mechanical design. All data is clearly defined and can be transferred directly into production processes.
